2012Boos Deluxe Cutting Board Giveaway (CLOSED)
CONTEST CLOSED – Congrats to Amy S., comment #490
Hi All,
If you watch Food Network, I’m sure you’ve noticed the famous Boos block cutting boards on most of your favorite shows. Bobby, Giada, Paula, Tyler — the list goes on and on. Just last night, I noticed four Boos blocks on Chopped.
Well, thanks to the kind folks at John Boos, I’m giving one away this week! The Deluxe Cutting Board measures 20x15x2-1/4” and is made of hard rock maple, which is naturally anti-bacterial. It’s reversible, so you can use one side for meat and poultry (notice the juice groove) and the other for cutting fruits and veggies. I have the very same one in my kitchen and love that it’s super functional yet also looks great on the countertop.
For a chance to win, simply review any recipe on the site (in the comment section beneath the recipe) between now and midnight on May 22nd. You may review up to five recipes for five separate entries. A winner will be chosen on May 23rd by a random number generator and notified via email.
You must be a resident of the contiguous U.S. and Once Upon a Chef email or feed subscriber to participate. Click here to subscribe.
Good luck!

Our homeowners association was having a Fashion Show and Luncheon (with the men from the community preparing and serving the lunch). The President and I (I’m VP) decided to have grilled chicken over salad greens. We used your recipe for Perfectly Grilled Chicken Breasts with Lemon Garlic and Herbs. Wow — was it ever a “hit”. the chicken was moist and delish. We had over 70 ladies attend and all finished their plates!
p.s. would love to have the cutting board – we do many dinners for our community (mostly seniors) and this would be a big help.
Susan M
I have been making your Asparagus Lemon and Parm Soup weekly while the asparagus are in season…..great recipe! Hubby loves the Chocolate Chip Pecan Blondies and I love the lemon bars.

Had neighbors over for dinner a couple of weeks ago and make your Broiled Salmon with Thai Sweet Chili Glaze. It was delicious and so easy to do. Will definitely make this again.
Pat Brady-Rice
Had some Thai Sweet Chili Sauce left over, so I decided to make your recipe for the Cripsy Coconut Shrimp with the Sweet Red Chili Sauce. Have had coconut shrimp out, but never made it at home. It was wonderful! I made a two pound bag of shrimp and share it with two of my neighbors. They want to know when I’m making it again!
Pat Brady-Rice
I love asian foods so I decided to try your Vietnamese Caramelized Shrimp recipe. My next door neighbors also love asian food, so I had them over for dinner. The dish is so light and full of flavor. My neighbor said it would be a great dish for summer (we usually eat at the pool on Wednesday nights).
Jennie
I reviewed the toffee crack!

I made your Leek and Parmesan Quiche on Easter for brunch and it was a huge success! Everyone loved it. It is rich, but luscious!
Susan Pfund
Last year after seeing the post of your Chocolate Cream Pief or Dad, I made it for my father. He loved it! Unfortunately, my dad passed away this February. So glad I got to share your pie with him last year!
Susan Pfund
Made the Vietnamese Carmelized Shrimp and it was great. My husband like it so much. He said it was the first shrimp dish he’s had where the flavor of the shrimp was so profound. It was very tasty, however, my sauce wasn’t too thick. I don’t know what I did wrong. But it tasted good…..I didn’t get any carmelization.
Jenn
The caramelization in this recipe is really just the color of the sauce. I don’t think you did anything wrong
Susan
Your Spinach and Gruyere Quiche was silky smooth as your described it. I served it for a ladies luncheon and gave out the recipe to everyone there!
Susan
Love the Sparkling White Sangria……great for summer! I took your suggestion and used frozen grapes and it worked great keeping the mixture chilled in the pitcher without watering it down.
Carrie R
I absolutely love your Chocolate Banana Bread recipe! My son and husband will no longer let me make regular banana bread with my overripe bananas.
Though I REALLY want to try your chai spiced banana bread. I will override their votes next time, lol!
Donna Bechtold
I started making the Zesty Italian Dressing the same day I got the recipe. I have been making my own Italian Dressing for many years and never thought I would find something I liked better. I love this recipe and it has quickly replaced mine. My husband loves it as well.
