Greek-Style Family Dinner
(My server went down yesterday, which caused some technical glitches, so I apologize if you already received this post or had trouble getting onto the site.)
Many of you have written in asking for entertaining ideas so, every once in a while, I thought it’d be fun to cook recipes from the archives for family or friends and share the menus with you. Hopefully, it will inspire you with some new ideas!
On the menu: Hummus and Tzatziki with Pita Chips, a Zucchini Carpaccio Salad with Feta, Walnuts and Dill, Greek-Style Lamb Burgers, and a Summer White Bean Ragout.
For dessert, homemade Frozen Yogurt and watermelon slices.
I’ve made this exact meal at least a half dozen times…entertaining is so much easier (and less stressful!) when you’ve got a reliable menu to fall back on. You can serve it as a traditional three-course dinner, or just set it all out on the table mezze-style. The beauty is that it’s all easy to make and you can do most of it ahead of time. The only thing to do at the last minute is dress the salad and grill the burgers.
For the table, I asked my friend, Beth — the florist and designer behind the blog Sweet Sabelle — to come over and give us some inspiration. She dressed it up with zinnias in small glass vases and mason jars, a mix-and-match of cloth napkins and some outdoor throw pillows. I love her style, and this table is so doable!
Hope you enjoyed this post, and many thanks as always for following my blog. -Jenn
