This fruit-packed smoothie is a little sweet, a little tart and a whole lot of healthy. Frozen fruit and low fat Greek yogurt make it extra thick and creamy — a treat! Make it for breakfast and you’ll feel satisfied until lunchtime.

What you’ll need to make A Berry, Banana & Pomegranate Smoothie

Smoothie ingredients including frozen berries, pomegranate juice, and honey.

Five simple ingredients are all you’ll need. As you can see, I buy bagged frozen berries. These are a great freezer staple because they keep for months on end, and are cheaper and more convenient than fresh berries. You can’t buy frozen bananas, so it’s a good idea to keep a stash of peeled ripe bananas in the freezer so you can make a smoothie whenever the mood strikes you.

Simply combine all of the ingredients in a blender and purée until smooth. Depending on the type of blender you have and how powerful it is, you may need to stop and stir every once in a while to help it along.

  • This is a life-saving smoothie! My daughter has a virus and I can’t get her to eat anything because everything taste so badly to her. She looks forward to this twice a day. I added some egg whites to ramp up the protein. Don’t tell her😊 It is refreshing and delicious. Thank you, Jenn!!

  • Leave it to OUAC to have a superior smoothie recipe, too. 5* as is, but I only had Chobani Zero Sugar Toasted Coconut Vanilla yogurt in the fridge on my third time making it, and it might have been even better—I did cut the honey in half because it was sweetened. Easy, healthy, works well with chia seeds added, too.

    • Hi Aj, for the best results, I’d stick with the juice. Sorry!

  • Awesome mixture of ingredients!

We sprinkle walnuts over it for added protein.

  • Loved by my grandkids! And the adults. Worked even though I forgot to freeze the banana, used blueberry-pomegranate juice (couldn’t find plain pomegranate juice), and used vanilla Greek yogurt as that is what I had (didn’t put in honey as this yogurt was a little sweeter). Ok so I am one of THOSE reviewers who basically change the recipe – sorry to all those purists out there. But I thought I would add this as it is a recipe that obviously lends itself well to those times when you have to improvise. Those are a kind of special great recipe to me. Thanks!

  • LOVE THIS RECIPE! One of the best smoothie recipes, in terms of being well balanced, in my opinion. However, I only add a squirt of agave/honey. I think 4 tsp is unnecessary but to each their own. I also split up the berries and do 1/2 blueberries and 1/2 dark sweet cherries. YUMMY.

  • Hi, can I replace the pomegranate juice with fresh orange juice?

    • Hi Florentina, I think that may work but orange juice is sweeter than pomegranate juice so you may want to cut back the honey by 1 teaspoon. Hope that helps and that you enjoy!

      • Thanks a lot for your reply.

  • My kids love this smoothie and are always asking for exactly this one.

  • This is first time for me on this website, the smoothie was delicious.. as I am following a dairy free diet, I added egg whites instead of Greek yogurt.

  • Wonderful. Very refreshing. Will make a great addition to my brunch recipes.

  • Is there a good way to cut back on the sugar?

    • Hi Deborah, You can definitely omit the honey, or just add it to taste. Hope that helps!

  • Fantastic recipe! Adding some ice cubes and about a 1/4 cup more pomegranate juice really gives the flavor a boost, but other than that, they were some great guidelines!

  • So good! My husband and I usually double the recipe and split three ways with our teenage son. I have found that the honey is not necessary as the berries and banana are sweet enough, but that is just a personal preference. This is also a great basic starter recipe – the possible combinations of fruit and juices are infinite as long as you keep the proportions the same.

  • Is it possible to use the actual pomegranate seeds instead of the juice? And if so, what would you recommend for a measurement?

    • Unless you have a really strong blender, I wouldn’t recommend it. I think the texture would be too seedy/grainy. Sorry!

  • Forgot to give the stars! 🙂

  • You’re site has become my first go-to resource anytime I want a new recipe. I have tried many and haven’t yet found one that didn’t deliver as promised, pleasing me and my family. Thank you, thank you!

  • <3 this recipe. I've been wasting money at jamba juice! I didn't know it was so easy

  • I’ve been making smoothies every morning and this morning I actually made it using POM juice.. SO delicious! Thanks for sharing!

  • Wonderful smoothie recipe,

As a side note it is rally hard to see the site due to all the banner ads. I already subscribe to your weekly emails so I don’t need to see that one. The LED lightbulb as is obnoxious. You close it and it keeps opening. I finally printed a hard copy of the recipe just so I could see the ingredients. Ads on the side are fine.

  • Delicious!! Even my picky son said it was soooo good!!!!
