Enjoy the nostalgia of a good old-fashioned ice cream sundae—creamy ice cream topped with rich hot fudge, whipped cream, chopped nuts, and, of course, a cherry on top!
Did anyone else grow up going to Friendly’s after dinner for hot fudge sundaes? Those over-the-top creations were the ultimate treat—vanilla ice cream piled high, draped in warm fudge, topped with whipped cream and a cherry. Pure bliss.
Whether you’re making this for a special occasion or just craving a little sweet nostalgia, it totally hits the spot. I love using my homemade hot fudge sauce (it’s easier than you’d think!), and if you’re feeling ambitious, you can even make your own vanilla ice cream. Or go the other direction and keep it super simple with my affogato recipe—also vanilla ice cream, but with a grown-up Italian twist.
